THE PROJECT
Red Star were approached by producers Cantilever Media and Ulysses Filmproduktion to act as UK studio on this Sky Cinema feature film based on the novel by Sir Terry Pratchett. Red Star created all the film’s characters and environments, as well all layout and supervised and co-produced the character animation alongside Studio Rakete in Germany.
The film features the voices of Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, Himesh Patel and David Thewlis, was written by Terry Rossio and directed by Toby Genkel and Florian Westermann. Released on Sky Cinema in the UK in December 2022 and on 1700 cinema screens in the US, it was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival and was shortlisted for the 2023 BAFTA for Best Animated Film.
